How to Migrate from Easify to Customiras in 10 Minutes
A step-by-step guide to moving all your product option configurations from Easify Product Options to Customiras — without losing any data or disrupting your store.
If you're on Easify Product Options and you're ready to switch to Customiras, this guide will walk you through the process step by step. Most merchants complete the migration in under 10 minutes.
What this guide covers:
- Exporting your Easify data
- Importing into Customiras
- Verifying the migration
- Going live without downtime
Let's get started.
Before you begin
A few things to check before migrating:
- Make a list of your products that currently use Easify. You'll want to verify each one after migration.
- Note any conditional logic rules you have set up. Complex rules may need manual review after import.
- Don't uninstall Easify yet. Keep both apps active during migration — you can uninstall Easify once you've confirmed everything is working.
Step 1: Export your options from Easify
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Easify Product Options
- Navigate to Settings → Export
- Click Export All Options — this downloads a
.csvfile - Save the file somewhere you can find it (your Downloads folder is fine)
Note: If you have conditional logic or pricing rules, check the export — some of these may be included in the CSV, and some may need to be re-created manually. The Customiras migration tool will flag anything it can't automatically import.
Step 2: Install Customiras
If you haven't already:
- Visit the Customiras listing on the Shopify App Store
- Click Add app
- Approve the permissions (Customiras needs read access to products and write access to product options)
- Your 14-day free trial begins immediately — no credit card required
Step 3: Run the migration
- In the Customiras admin, click Migration in the sidebar
- Select Easify as your source app
- Click Choose file and upload your Easify export CSV
- Customiras will analyse the file and show you a preview of what will be imported:
- Number of option sets detected
- Number of products affected
- Any options that need manual attention
- Review the preview, then click Import
The import typically takes 30–60 seconds, depending on how many products you have.
Step 4: Review the imported options
Once the import is complete:
- Navigate to Customiras → Option Sets
- You should see all your Easify option sets imported and renamed
- Click into each option set to verify:
- All option types are correct (text → text, dropdown → dropdown, etc.)
- Option values are correct (the choices customers can make)
- Price modifiers are correct (if any)
- Conditional logic rules are present (may need manual review)
Step 5: Set up live preview (optional but recommended)
This is the step that makes Customiras meaningfully better than Easify. Setting up the live preview canvas:
- Go to the option set for a product
- Click Preview Canvas
- Upload your product image or select it from Shopify
- Draw personalisation zones — areas where customer input will appear on the product
- Save and preview the experience as a customer would see it
Even if you set up live preview for just your bestselling product, you'll likely see a measurable improvement in conversion and a reduction in support tickets.
Step 6: Test before going live
Before you switch Easify off, test your migrated options:
- Go to your storefront (you can use Shopify's preview mode)
- Navigate to each product that had Easify options
- Check that Customiras options appear correctly
- Fill out the options and add to cart — verify the cart shows the right selections
- If you have conditional logic, test each branch
If anything looks wrong, you can adjust the option sets in Customiras without affecting your live store (since Easify is still active as the primary).
Step 7: Switch to Customiras and uninstall Easify
Once you're satisfied everything is working:
- In Customiras, go to Settings → Display and ensure Customiras is set to Active on all relevant products
- In Shopify admin, go to Apps → Easify Product Options → Delete
- Confirm the deletion
Your products are now running on Customiras.
Common migration questions
Q: What if I have conditional logic in Easify? Customiras's migration tool imports basic conditional rules (show/hide based on selection). Complex nested rules may need to be recreated. After import, go to each option set and check the Logic tab.
Q: What about my historical orders? Historical orders from Easify are unaffected — they're stored in Shopify's order history. Customiras only affects new orders from the point of activation.
Q: Can I run both apps at the same time? Yes, but it will create conflicts on product pages (both apps try to add options to the same product). Keep Easify active during migration, then deactivate it cleanly by uninstalling when you're ready.
Q: What if something goes wrong? Contact us at hello@customiras.com — we'll help you sort it out. We've done hundreds of migrations and can troubleshoot any issue. Since you haven't uninstalled Easify yet, you can always switch back.
The difference you'll notice immediately
Once you've migrated, the first thing you'll notice is the live preview. Customers can now see their personalisation on the actual product as they type — no more guessing, no more "what will it look like" emails.
You'll also have access to:
- AI background removal — customers can upload photos and remove backgrounds in one click
- Analytics dashboard — see which options are actually being used and driving revenue
- Auto print files — orders generate print-ready files automatically
- Smart migration for future switches (though hopefully you won't need it!)
All for $5/month. That's it.
